Then & Now
In 1965 the Oceana Land Co. built the 9 hole Oceana Golf Course in conjunction with the development of the Oceana community. Officially opened in 1966 with a ribbon cutting ceremony lead by iconic comedian and entertainer, Mr. Jack Benny, the course spanned 2,340 yards with four par 4’s, four par 3’s and a short par 5. In 1986, after several closures and changes in lease-holders, the property reopened as Emerald Isle Golf Course, featuring an 18-hole course that stretched 2,452 yards for a par of 56.
Our mission at Emerald Isle is to offer our guests a fast, fun and affordable golf experience, excellent course conditions, and a welcome, friendly environment for golfers of all ages and skill levels. Our guests are our #1 priority – and that goes for their dogs too! (yep, we are dog friendly here at Emerald Isle). Our golf course amenities include: a practice putting and chipping green, an all-grass driving range stocked with new practice balls, a snack bar (including beer and wine), E-Z-Go golf cars, pull carts, and rental clubs.
